Very nice place! Great location!  We really enjoyed the property! The unit was very close to the clubhouse and pool, and just across the street from the beach, so it was very convenient. The unit had everything you would need for the beach, including a number of bicycles. What you get is exactly as you see in the photos. Unfortunately, our trip was cut short due to a family emergency, but we are looking forward to returning one day. NOTE: If you wish to see the wild horses, I would suggest taking one of the tours originating in Corolla. I doubt we would have seen them if we had ventured out on our own.

A great little getaway:  We loved staying at Sea Dunes J5. It is a perfect location. Lynn is a wonderful host. She goes above and beyond to make sure you enjoy your stay. The condo is fully stocked with everything you need for the beach, for cooking, for relaxing or for bike riding. It really is a home away from home.

We enjoyed the location very much! We usually stay in hotels right on the beach but this was better for family due to the amenities (laundry, full kitchen, beach chairs/bikes/umbrellas etc) and didn't sacrifice ocean views (best from the top floor). Quick walk to the beach (all our kids easily navigate stairs but for younger kids that could be a challenge with all the gear). Super quick walk to the clubhouse with pool/hot tub (which we found to be clean, not busy at end of Sept). Close to plenty of stores and restaurants. Owners were responsive to little issues we had. We may be return renters some day!

While this condo may not be the most modern place we’ve stayed at, it was by far the cleanest and most well-stocked house we’re ever had. Everything from beach chairs to bicycles , beach towels, cooking supplies, games, etc are present. It made vacationing so much easier because we didn’t have to lug all of those things in our car. The host was unbelievably explicit in her pre-arrival directions which were so helpful. This is definitely a great place to stay!

We all had a grewat time at Sea Dunes this week!  The weather was perfect for beachgoing and the pool.  The easy access to both is a real blessing with a 10-month old.  Hanging out on the back porch was a real pleasure.  We saw several shooting stars while gazing out  towards the beach.

We had a wonderful week in Sea dunes J5.  The townhome had everything we needed and then some!  Having beach gear and a full kitchen made the week.  The girls had an epic Monopoly battle that lasted throughout the week.  The end table full of games was another awesome amenity that made this feel like home for the week.

We were so excited to get away and go to to the OBX for the week!!The reviews of the property made it sound too good to be true and it certainly didn’t disappoint!! We were traveling a long way, 12 hours, from Northwestern PA, and the extra hints to avoid traffic and extra toll cost was just one of the considerate touches Lynn gave us. We arrived to a note and a gift card for a local custard place on the kitchen table. When we got in the unit, we were like little kids running from room to room and checking out every little thing. From the comfortable beds and couch, to pretty much everything you would need to cook a meal, this was the ideal home away from home. I made several comments that I felt like I was at home because most of the produces that were at our disposal, we used at home!! The labeling and the notes were extremely helpful when looking for items. Lynn was available whenever we needed her, before and during our stay. We unanimously said we would book the same place again!! I read a review that a good review would make people want to book this Sea Dunes property and now I know why that comment was made. I want to keep this property a secret so when we need it, it will be available!! Hopefully we can book again soon!!

I have had the great opportunity to rent Sea Dunes J5 for a full week and I fell in love here.  I am from Minnesota (Cannon Falls) and my husband and I were coming for a much needed vacation and were meeting up with my brother and sister-in-law.  They came from New Bern for a car show and rented a house just down the road.  We own a pizza business back home and unfortunately on the flight down received calls from a couple of employees that they couldn't work due to being exposed to COVID so my husband had to return home, which means I was here by myself.  I had my brother and siter-in-law to keep me busy for all but the last 2 1/2 days.  This place feels so safe and I love the location.  So easy to get to the beach each morning.  The car show was great. We went to Jockey's Ridge and I thought I was in a desert, it was amazing. We saw four different light houses and toured to see the wild horses.  We strolled the town of Manteo and I walked the boardwalk in Duck.  All great things to do.  The only place I ate at that was not great was Uncle Ike's in Corolla (I think).  Definitely would love to come back  Thanks for having such a great place that is stocked with the essentials.  Thanks for sharing with others.  If ever in Cannon Falls, MN, stop in at Dudley's Pizza!

April 2021  PERFECT HOME BASE

I was having trouble finding beachfront property to rent, which is what I was looking for, but then found Lynn's condo just a block from the water. It was bigger than we needed for two people, but it looked clean and updated and promising. We were not disappointed! Lynn has done a wonderful job of updating and remodeling. When she says she has a well appointed kitchen, she isn't kidding! We picked up fresh steamed crabs from a local restaurant (within walking distance) and sure enough there were crab claw crackers and picks in one of the drawers. Everything is labeled so you don't have to spend a ton of time looking for things. We also loved the garage to get the car and our bikes out of the salt air. Lynn was very accommodating and responsive to our questions and requests. We would stay here again, no question.

We live in landlocked Lexington, VA.  We have the Blue Ridge Mountains, but not the blue waters of the ocean or the sandy beaches where you can walk barefoot and rinse your toes with little whitecaps rolling in from the great Atlantic Ocean.  The water is cool, but not frigid.  The ocean isn't quite as breathtaking as the Pacific, but there is something to be said for moderation, even when we're talking about oceans rather than about people.  

PS - the condo was clean, well equipped, and has a lovely view of the ocean.  A glass or two of wine on the deck is recommended.

“This was our first time in OBX and the location is fantastic. The community amenities were nice looking however we didn't have access to the pool snd hottub due to the season. The walk to the beach was easy and much safer than being on the other side of the highway. The view from the balcony were nice and the house was a good size for a family of 4-5. We liked how the host has common use items stocked such as TP, towels, sheets, trash bags, soap, spices, dishes, pots, pans, coffee maker and more. Thank you for a wonderful weekend at Sea Dunes!  We had a great weekend getting away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life.  We went to Captain George's (amazing food!).  Henry's for breakfast.  And drove on the beach while watching the waves crash!  Our last night we reverted back to our childhood and played hide and seek. You are never too old for hide and seek!   Thank you again for a much needed getaway with friends!

We have enjoyed a restful weekend here in J5.  Room for our family of 6 to spread out.  Bikes for our energetic boys to burn off some steam after our drive were a huge hit!  The 6-top dining table was a perfect breakfast spot.  Everyone slept so well.  Comfortable, cozy and warm in this chilly - but beautiful - late winter weather.  Thanks for a great place to stay!

Lynn's place is fantastic. This is our second time staying at Sea Dunes community and absolutely love it. It was beautiful townhouse with 3 levels, clean, spacious. The Sea Dunes complex has private access to the beach which is just steps away. The house was quiet and located in the center of all the local actions. Easy walk to plenty of shops and restaurants, easy drive North to Duck, Corolla, or south down to Nags Head and Manteo. Will definitely stay again when coming back to Kitty Hawk.

This is a lovely place to stay! We have stayed at freestanding houses in the past but didn't feel that anything was sacrificed by being in a condo—in fact, we liked it even better. We were close to the ocean and we loved having access to the community pool/hot tub which was sparkling clean. The kids enjoyed shooting hoops and all of the fun "toys" (bikes, boogie boards, etc.) that came with the house. This kind of set-up (beach side, pool, etc.) would usually be super expensive in season but Lynn's house is a great deal! Plus Lynn was a pleasure to interact with... gracious, helpful, and kind.

This townhouse is in the center of everything in Kitty Hawk. Many restaurants in walking distance. It’s a very short, easy walk to the beach. The pool and basketball court was loved by my boys! And, you can see and hear the ocean from the balcony. The home is very clean and the host offers her beach gear to use! There are even extra beach towels. This has been the most accommodating location I have rented. Great value!

I don't want to give this house a good review because then everyone will book it and I won't get to book it again! This house had everything we needed for a wonderful beach week: 1) close to the beach; 2) beach gear like chairs, boogey boards, sand toys, etc.; 3) a well stocked kitchen; 4) a wonderful ocean view; and 5) plenty of room for our family. Our vacation was almost scuttled because of Isiasis. The property owner kept us updated on news about the Hurricane and checked in on us before and after the storm. The house had so much included in it! We could not have asked for a better location or house for our family.

This was our fist time visiting OBX and loved it!  We came down from Massachussetts for a fun little vacation.  We went to the Wright Brothers' Memorial, had a fun tour looking at the wild horses, visited Roanoke Island and went wind gliding!  This was an amazing couple of days, thanks to J-5 for an amazing place to stay.

We really enjoyed our week here in SDJ5!  We have a 5 yr old and a 7 yr old and enjoyed being so close to the beach and really enjoyed the pool and basketball courts.  We loved all the amenities included with this condo:  the beach toys, chairs and umbrellas were great to have.  We enjoyed the deck very much - the kids loved eating dinner on it and we enjoyed looking at the stars and planets nightly!  This was our second time in OBX - we did a wild horse tour, Jockey's Ridge State Park, H2OBX water park and fishing at Jeanette's Pier.  We loved being so close to so many great restaurants!

Our stay at your  condo was fantastic! The location, cleanliness, updates, amenities were all great. This was only our second time to the outer banks but it was our best time . One of the reasons we selected your condo was for the amenities that many others do not provide (laundry, grill, etc). We were pleasantly surprised to find even more amenities (toilet paper, paper towels, etc). All in all it was a great week!

My family has been coming to OBX for over 30 years.  The last 15 years we have stayed at various Sea Dunes units - SDJ5 is our choice.  the amenities are very accomodating - towels, sheets, kitchen supplies!

This unit is so close to great restaurants... Sad our vacation this year is coming to an end but we will definitely be back in 2020.

The unit was very clean and well appointed. It was a short walk to the beach. There are many stores and restaurants within short walking or driving distance. This was easily the best “stocked” rental we have stayed. Paper products, toiletries, cookware, utensils, laundry products, bikes, beach chairs, games...you name it, it was available! We really enjoyed having two decks to sit and see and hear the ocean. The owner was very friendly and responsive to questions we had regarding the unit prior to our arrival. We would definitely stay again and recommend it to others!

My famiy of six really enjoyed our time here.  The kids loved the pool and clubhouse.  We all really enjoyed the bikes!  Great location and the beach was awesome!  The condo is great.  Coffee on nthe deck was a great start to the morning.  Overall it was a terrific week and will definitely come back.  PS Not having tro bring liens and towels is absolutely the best thing!  Thanks so much for that!

MAY 2019  Getaway to Kitty Hawk

This property was in an awesome location. Close to the beach and lots of great eating places. The condo was very well stocked with shampoo,conditioner,body wash,lotion,sun screen,makeup wipes,etc. So bring your toothbrush and come on down. The only thing I noticed that needed attention is the sliding glass door and screen in the king bedroom. It is very hard to open and close,It seems to be sticking. We enjoyed our stay and had a wonderful time.

We will absolutely return in the future! We had a fantastic time and with traveling across the country it was nice to know we wouldn't have to worry about all the little things like linens and all other things you usually have to purchase while at a vacation rental. The unit was very family friendly which was perfect for our 18 month old and everyone had their own space. The patios were fantastic, we spent most of our time out there! The location is great being central to sever attractions. Stayed in the winter and the owners had great quick response times. They accommodated a same day stay! The place is spacious and has many amenities like washer and dryer, coffee maker and the beds were very comfortable. My kids enjoyed the toys and games as well. Very clean with a nice view of the beach from the top floor. Did not go down to the beach as it was winter.

I would definitely recommend! Lynn was very quick to respond to my questions. The house was easy to find and easy to access. We had a great birthday celebration for our kiddo. So close to the beach, we walked right over. There were plenty of things to do and Lynn had magazines with coupons in case we needed suggestions. Overall, a lovely visit!

At first I didn't think I wanted to book a condo with so many nice houses available. But after seeing the additional fees for linens and no extras with the houses I changed my mind. This condo was a fraction of the price of houses the same size and offered much much more. We had beach chairs, umbrellas, cooler, bikes and more. Plus we enjoyed the clubhouse as well. The complex was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed the nice large pool and hot tub. The unit was clean and well stocked with comfortable beds and linens. We enjoyed this condo and the great price! I would highly recommend this rental.

We had a great stay here. The place was clean. Had an abundance of all the sundries you would need from Toilet paper to soaps etc. Two blocks from the beach. We enjoyed exploring the barrier islands. We will say it had three flights of stairs to climb. The middle sliding door was really hard to open. Thank you for a delightful month long stay.

Date of stay: October 2017  SPACIOUS AND WELL EQUIPPED HOME

Owner has upgraded the appliances in the kitchen as well as a few small items around the house. This was our 3rd year in the same unit, no plans to stay anywhere else. The kitchen is stocked well with all the items one would need for the stay. The furniture and beds are very comfortable and it feels like home. The beach is a 2 minute walk around the corner and the club house with a pool is very well kept up. Reserving this place is as easy as it gets on VRBO. The owner is involved as well and will answer any question you could have and keep you posted of things you will need to know before you arrive. Makes a vacation just that, a vacation. Thanks to everyone who makes this so smooth every year :-)
